Tonight my mom and I had a mostly spectacular experience at Ten3. The ambiance, the food execution and flavor were unparalleled in excellence. We ordered the Bibb lettuce salad, three cocktails, and for entrees: the Scallops and Barramundi. Given my gluten intolerance, I asked our server, Jennifer recommendations to care for the orzo pasta that accompanies the Barramundi. She suggested having the mashed potatoes on the side. I agreed with the understanding that the mashed potatoes would be on the side given the heirloom compote that accompanied the barramundi. After dessert, Jennifer brought the bill, and I was surprised to see that we had been charged for the mashed potatoes side, especially when my mom had requested an additional side of the corn risotto. When I shared my surprise with Jennifer, she indicated there are no substitutions, as printed on the menu. I acknowledged this statement and also reminded her that the menu also says that most menu items can be made gluten free by asking the server. Jennifer took the bill, my credit card and said she would speak with the manager. In a few minutes, she returned with the charged bill indicating the manager said no to removing the extra side (~$17). I said I understood and encouraged her and the other servers to directly state that changes on the side came at an additional expense - which she did not say to me. Jennifer left and shortly after manager came to the table. He mentioned that Jennifer asked him to visit our table. I explained the situation above, and he apologized and said he would have removed the extra charge for the side of potatoes. I thanked him and encouraged him to have servers be transparent about extra charges to avoid uncomfortable experiences. As I left our table, I realized Jennifer never asked a manager. If she had, the answer would have been yes - given what the manager said visiting our table. Long story long - be weary of Jennifer’s service as her tip appears top priority.

Disappointing - just pack a picnic lunch. 4 of us went up for lunch, probably last time we eat there. Limited menu. Prices are too high for quality and choices. $31 burger was best thing there. Chicken wrap was dry and bland, marked gluten free on menu but when we asked to be sure it wasn’t! Tacos were cold, dry and not as good as any street vendor for $27, no sides. The views are good, service was ok, but it’s just not worth it. Need more variety, better options and values. It’s Sad as last 3 times we ate there since new building were much better value and quality/flavors. Do not recommend.
