TOAST has been my favorite restaurant in Pittsburg since it opened. The staff is kind, helpful, and often goes above and beyond. The restaurant is decorated with local art. The menu is phenomenal. There are so many great options and the seasonal dishes are always something to look forward to. They use local ingredients as much as possible and have so many cool partnerships with local farmers. They do an amazing job of offering options for everyone. I have a gluten intolerance and have had no problems eating here. Many of their menu options are customizable to your needs. Just ask the friendly staff and let them know about your intolerance or allergies. They have gluten free bread, but you can also get many of their sandwiches on taters or on a salad instead of bread. I love to get the palluca's toast melt on a salad instead of bread. You should definitely stop by for lunch on taco Tuesday for some taco taters. I love the cubano sandwich and the logan's salad is so tasty. Their salads have REAL greens, not that iceberg lettuce. Let them know if it is your birthday and get a scoop of gelato and a cutting of a plant. They also have great drink options - cocktails and mocktails. They take their time with cooking your food to make sure it is right. Make sure you carve out enough time to eat. This isn't a fast food restaurant. Sit and savor your company and then sit and savor this tasty food.

We waited over 45-50 minutes for a hard boiled egg on toast with a salad. The restaurant claimed they "lost" our ticket and asked to give us gelato for the mistake. We asked for a refund instead and they gave us cookies. I am gluten free so can't eat the cookies. It still took 15 minutes after they realized they had lost our ticket, and they did not refund us. I also was excited about the gluten free options. The gluten free toast was dry by the time we got it. I won't eat here again when I come back through. Worst customer service ever. And after reading the awful response- I would not recommend going here. We were not hateful at all to anyone. We walked in around 12pm not 1pm, but for someone to be "waiting" for a bad review says something in itself. I was not rude to any staff members at all, and it is really surprising to me that this restaurant would "be sharing this with our crew as a teaching moment of how to not let customers treat them." This should be a teaching moment of how NOT to make customers wait for over 45 minutes for their food or lose tickets. Maybe check the ticket line up? Maybe work on your customer service of how you are going to handle these situations before someone comes in? But, instead you are extremely rude to the customer, scapegoating them for your bad service. Disgraceful.
