Our family has dined at Tanaka of Tokyo (upstairs Ala Moana) for years since I was younger for our special occasions, and the chefs are always so wonderful. It was my first time eating there since I became gluten-free, and they were able to accommodate me on the salad, miso soup, and sauces, and ensured that things were gluten-free several times without me having to check once (though I know it is my responsibility ti check what I eat).
