Tao Tao Ju - Chinese Restaurant Leicester Square

We arrived at 5:45pm on a Friday and were sat upstairs in a quiet room which was lovely. By the time we left at 7pm there was a queue out the door. I was craving crispy hoisin duck pancakes and ordered a half duck. The duck was a little luke warm but it was yummy nonetheless. The meat was plentiful and lots of crispy skin. The waiter shredded it next to our table. A half duck was plenty for 2 people and really all we needed to order for dinner. We had the char sui bao which were ok with fluffy bread but the char sui was a bit chewy and glutenous. We also ordered egg fried rice and fried green beans with pork and this was fantastic! The green beans were lightly seasoned with onion and garlic with lovely rich soy sauce. We could hardly eat much of our second course so took most of it home (it was great the next day). We ordered too much but spent £70 for 2 of us, so not a super cheap meal. Our waiter was great he was very efficient especially when everyone in our section finished at the same time.

My family and I were recommended this restaurant whilst visiting London for a show and it did not dissapoint . They were amazing at accommodating our individual needs as I am vegan and my mother is gluten intolerant . The food was fresh and pack full of flavour and the staff were so attentive and friendly ! We ended up eating here twice HIGHLY RECOMMEND the dimsum and all the delicious veggie dishes
