After reading reviews online, we decided to try Taqueria Picoso for dinner one night and it was about the most average experience I’ve ever had. We chose this mainly on reviews from the Find Me Gluten Free app because I have Celiac Disease. We ordered birria tacos, an Al pastor taco, elote, and chips/guac. I’d say the only thing worthy of spending money on again was the chips and guac, which was wonderful. The tacos were subpar - a lot of the birria was too fatty and none of it tasted like it had been salted. Both of us felt like something was missing and that something was definitely seasoning. The food was meh, and honestly the service was too. When ordering, I confirmed I had an allergy. I fully understand not everything is going to be accommodated to me, I make the risk when I eat out. I didn’t end up getting sick, but the individual checking me out was one of the rudest I’ve encountered. She stared at me blankly, rolled her eyes, and treated me like I was an idiot for confirming if certain items were gluten free - it frustrated me to the point of near-tears to feel like I was completely ignored by someone. I won’t be back and will continue going to better, more affordable places that salt their food and treat people with respect.
