Tatte Bakery & Cafe | Bethesda

I have been here three times because they have gluten free brownies and now I am pretty sure this is the most overhyped bakery in this area. 1. the staff are totally untrained in even basic human courtesy. They act as if they are giving free food to the customers. 2. The brownie size, appearance and taste are inconsistent. Once we were given a broken brownie that was half the thickness of a decent one on the shelf. 5$ for that is beyond ridiculous. Overall, would never recommend this place and actively discourage others from going there.

Love this place. I eat here almost weekly. I love the industrial, trendy vibe. The food is all good - I've had salads, sandwiches, and tartines. The gluten-free bread isn't great, but that's not much of a surprise. It's also one of a few places you can actually get a good cup of tea. The halva brownies are amazing, and the roasted strawberry tea cake is good too (and both gluten free!).
