Terra Nostra Garden Hotel

We had an absolutely fabulous time here at Terra Nostra Garden Hotel. I love the way this hotel is true to its roots in its decor, with a large nod to 1920/30s. So much choice for breakfast, gluten free cereal & bread provided as soon as we sat down. The gardens are spectacular & we made full use of the thermal pools once the gates had closed to the public, having them almost to ourselves. A night time walk in the garden is magical & a must. We had some fabulous meals in the restaurant, booking is advised. I can’t fault our stay.

I have traveled the world and stayed at the best 5-star hotels in the world or bunked it up in student hostels, and Terra Nostra is one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. They have really created the perfect formula for guest enjoyment and hospitality. The staff is friendly, incredibly polite, thoughtful, and really delivered personalized service. The breakfasts were amazing. From eggs to vegetables to a selection of freshly baked breads with butte, jams and honey to yogurt and granola/cereals to french toast/pancakes fresh juices and fresh fruits... they were truly comprehensive meals, beautiful served -- and they even remembered from the first day that my partner is gluten-free for the next two mornings after. It is so special doing the amazing hikes to the waterfalls everyday to then return home to the thermal baths which are so soothing. The grounds are stunning and beautifully manicured. Rooms and beds were comfortable. The dinner was the best meal we had during our stay in the Azores and, again, the service was 5-star. I can't thank the staff at Terra Nostra enough for their kindness and consideration. When we return to the islands, we will undoubtedly stay at Terra Nostra again!
