The good: the service was speedy, mostly professional (more on that later), and helpful when talking about the menu. The place is clean and tidy with plenty of good seats, and the restrooms are fine. The curries and soups were good, and we especially enjoyed the skewered chicken with peanut sauce! The staff were able to accommodate gluten free persons.
The bad: I unfortunately got a large piece of sharp, hard plastic in my soup which I was sharing with my girlfriend. I was very lucky I felt it in my mouth before it cut my gums or, worse, I swallowed it. My girlfriend was lucky she didn't get it in her mouth, either.
The restaurant basically failed to respond to the situation in the appropriate way. We pointed out the shard of plastic to a waiter, and he just took it and said sorry. We had to ask him if he can replace our soup, which he did. After finishing the meal, now slowly and cautiously, we went to pay for our meal. My girlfriend asked if the soup can be compensated as a courtesy, and the manager said no, but that he will comp 10% of the meal total, which didn't make up for the cost of the soup.
The problem was the responsiveness of the resto: they should have known automatically to replace the soup and we shouldn't have had to ask. The restaurant should have known to comp the hazardous soup (at least!) and we should not have had to ask.
The meal could have gone much differently for us if one of us had been injured by this soup, and I honestly don't think the restaurant would've responded correctly in that case.
Beside all of that, I can't recommend the pad thai or pad sew because they lacked a strong authentic flavor.
I cannot recommend the restaurant, which is sad, because there are great menu items there but I wouldn't feel safe.
