We had a lovely meal tonight having popped in without a reservation on the basis of the reviews on Google. We shared the meatballs to start, I had the seafood chowder and my husband the chicken schnitzel. All of them were very tasty, but it would have been nice if they had done something to the gluten free bread, ie turned it into garlic bread rather than serving dry toast. Service was polite and efficient. The decor felt dated and lacked character but I would still recommend.

Always looking for safe places to eat, as I have Coeliac disease. I ate here a couple of times and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable regarding my dietry requirements. Tasty food, well presented. Always seems busy, so booking is advisable.

Gluten Free Alert!!! Code red!!! Thatcher & Small has a huge selection of gluten free desserts and pastries. This spot is new and comfortable and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Order at the counter and they bring everything to you. We were only there twice and the second time we came in they remembered our names and were joking with us like regulars! We had a lemon meringue, Carmel Brownie, orange almond cake, and a chocolate and raspberry ice cream thing ... You could not even tell they were gluten free, and all were made in house. To top it off the cappuccino was amazing!
