The Andersen's Danish Bakery & Restaurant

Popular restaurant and bakery in downtown Santa Barbara. Great place for breakfast on the weekends. A wide variety of Danish baked goods along with some other non-Danish items. Some gluten-free items also available. All the baked items I’ve tried were good to very good. Depending on the item, you may be able to ask for a small taste before purchase. Many items available by the piece for dine- in or takeout, as well as entire baked items such as pies, cakes, and large pastries. Special occasion cakes can also be pre-ordered, such as birthday cakes. Indoor and outdoor dining available, with outdoor dining being a good place to people watch as this block tends to be somewhat busy with pedestrian traffic. Parking available via multiple nearby public lots off of Chapala Street and Anacapa Street. Boutique shopping also available in the nearby La Arcada shopping center.

Andersen’s bakery selections are beyond exquisite. They can do any cake gluten free. And most of their desserts are gluten free already. Charlotte is the most accommodating with one of a kind selections and spectacular holiday deals. The decor gives you a homelike feel and their new store (next door) offers bottled recipes of yummy goodies and boxed baked goods to take home. Andersen’s is a Santa Barbara landmark in La Arcada Plaza. ❤️
