The Bells of St Mary's

Stopped by reluctantly on Sunday with family. Was told by another member they had a good experience last Friday.. there was 12 of us and we didn't book. We asked if we could possibly have tables close by as we knew being a big party and a walk in, it wouldn't be possible. Was shut down immediately and told no, no space (there was plenty of space) so sat at the complete opposite sides of the pub, we had a table of 10 next to us which was empty for the duration of our stay... Went to order food, the person on the till was damn right disgusting to my brother in law and father in law and I was ready to give her a piece of my mind if she spoke to me like she did them, however she was fine when I ordered.. no gluten free items on the menu and that person on the tills needs to be a little more understanding. Carvery was disgusting and cold. Guy serving was not wearing gloves and scratting at his face! Beef was not cooked. Another member complained and got all her money back, another member tripped up the Christmas tree lights as they were plugged in at the opposite side of the room with no protection of the wires.. Was offered free deserts or drinks. Went to bar to order, said we only wanted 3 deserts and told her what they was and then said we wanted 2 drinks.. the way she snapped at my father in law again sent me over the edge! How DARE she speak to paying customers like that!! Absolutely disgusting and will never return. Take yourselves further up the Road to the Eagle & Child in Gwaenysgor. Fresh home cooked food and not freezer ping food!
