The Broadway Hotel & Carvery

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at your hotel. It was very convenient location as we got the train there and it was easy to get around from there. The breakfast was brilliant and catered for my wife's gluten free diet. Many thanks and we'll be sure to stay there again when we come back to Letchworth.

Location very central, easy to walk out into Letchworth Town Centre. I was born in Letchworth but now live in Yorkshire and was on a trip back to visit family & friends. I asked if possible for a room away from the street which I felt might be noisy late evening from the bar. Given a room on the 3rd floor which was fine, but was at the front of the hotel. Room was very warm which was good in one way but it became warm enough to open the bedroom window which did then mean some traffic noise. But it wasn't continuous. I would ask for a room at the back if we stayed here again. Room was a little tired and dated furniture but it was exceptionally clean, bed very comfortable. Bathroom was clean with shower over bath. Hot water pretty much instant and a good shower. Nice clean towels. Bulb in the dresser lamp stopped working and we did ask if it could be fixed. A man brought us a new bulb, but that didn't fix the issue. It was fixed the next day by the maintenance man while we were out, which was helpful. Breakfast was good and plentiful. It's buffet service at the weekend. I have Coeliac Disease so have to keep to a strict gluten free diet. Eating from a buffet is too risky. There were signs on the containers to keep to the same tongs, but people who don't have dietary problems (or preferences) don't understand the importance of this, so I asked if they could provide breakfast directly from the kitchen. They were happy to do this. They could provide gluten free bread, but I had taken my own, which I prefer to the general shop brands. Staff were very polite and courteous and helpful. There are also evening meals available here but we went out to a local eatery we know as this was already arranged with local family. The one thing which I did feel was a problem, was very slow response to messages. I emailed beforehand to ask about room location, car parking and my diet. 2 days later, tried to call, no response, sent email again and did get a full response and apology. Response to messages could be improved. All in all a good stay, reasonable price, booked direct through the Broadway
