The Dam Pub Gastropub & Whisky Bar

Went to the dam pub this afternoon (Saturday) with my wife and 5 y/o daughter. I have previously heard good reviews but was disappointed about our experience today. Food took 1.5 hours from order to come to our table. After about an hour our server apologized several times and told us they were understaffed in the kitchen. The apologies are appreciated however this should have been mentioned before our order, especially seeing us with a young child. When the food finally came it was underwhelming. Steak & Blue sandwich was basically grilled cheese with roast beef. Dam burger was very well done with toppings you would expect at a backyard neighbours BBQ. Upgrade your side fries to a salad or sweet potato fries will cost you +$4 to an already pricey entree. Food supplier is probably similar to what you would find at a Kelsey’s or Boston Pizza from what we ordered on the menu. Our server was very pleasant but should have let us know about the kitchen delays. I would not recommend to anyone in a rush or with young children. Menu items are more in line with what you would expect at a basic pub, despite the fancy descriptions. (Also for gluten free options, they were out of stock for most options)

We enjoyed a very nice dinner before a show across the street. Reservations are highly recommended! Excellent prime rib w yorkshire pudding and potatoes, vegetables. Desert was the sticky pudding. Very good. Kelly was our server providing excellent service and good advice for gluten free options for my wife. We will be back!!! Thank you.
