The Dodging Duck Brewhaus & Restaurant

Excellent service from a friendly server who took our complicated order by memory and got it right! Great place for gluten free and vegan food options as well as a delicious rack of ribs. The live music was acoustic covers that sounded like a thirty-year retrospective of Austin City Limits. We loved the outdoor seating space with the playful murals too! Lovely evening and would definitely visit again.

Service was absolutely terrible, we felt like our server had an attitude when we were asking questions about the menu. She also came for drinks and food order immediately then never came back to ask if we wanted to refill on beer or if our food was okay etc. When the food came out I did appreciate that the helper who brought our food did give the disclaimer that they did the best they could but could not guarantee that the food was 100% cross contamination free. I have celiac disease so it’s incredibly importantly that the staff communicate this with me. HOWEVER, when my food came out there was a long black hair on the food, the helper watched me remove the hair from my food and just said “oh sorry about that…. I can take it back if you want for a remake”. We had already been there with terrible service for a while so I said no it’s fine I’ll eat around it. The food was COLD - not even room temp and the burger wasn’t stacked like a burger the cheese was half on the plate and half on the burger because the whole thing was sideways, disappointing to say the least. At the end when we got our check I was expecting to see a discount because of the hair in the food but nope, nothin. We drove an hour for a day trip in this little town, saw good reviews here and gave it a shot. Maybe they just had an off day, but overall very disappointing experience 😭
