Went to the dorset recently for lunch with a friend. Our server Mikayla was attentive and knowledgeable! The gluten free options were great, and I really liked the atmosphere in the bar. Can’t wait to come back!

Service was good and friendly though a little slow. My wife and I ordered wings, battered cauliflower, a Waldorf salad and a grilled chicken burger. The wings were ok but a little dry and salty. I’ve heard they brine their wings which should mean they are tender and juicy so I’m guessing they just cooked them for way too long. The battered cauliflower was crisp on the outside, nicely cooked and moist on the inside. Both of these didn’t come with the usual veggies and dip because they were on special which is understandable but it would have been nice to know before ordering. It would also be great if you could pay to make the upgrade which may be possible, I didn’t ask. The Waldorf salad wasn’t great. The pear and onion slices were quite thick and pickled with an overpowering taste of vinegar which made the whole salad a little unpleasant. If the pear slices were just given a quick pickling they could stay crisp and sweet to help balance the salad out. My wife really liked her chicken burger which she got on a gluten free bun. The bun came out toasted which is a big plus especially for gluten free. I also ordered a pint from 88 which was delicious as usual. There were only 2 beers, I think, at happy hour pricing. The beer selection is quite good though it’s missing a lot of good local brews. Overall I would give it 4-4.5 but I rounded up to off-set some of the ridiculous low reviews. Don’t people understand how undeserved 1 star reviews can affect a business? I hope this pub continues to improve and prosper!
