Loved it. Husband had fish and chips and enjoyed it. Toddler had chicken and chips and loved it. I’m coeliac and had a burger and chips, loved it. For coeliacs interested in dining here…they have a seperate fryer for chips and can turn most menu items into a gluten free delight. It would appear they make a lot on site, so they know what’s in their food. Win. Thank you.

Had a really disappointing meal here last night. Food and service were really poor. Lovely building, really should be great local pub. Beer was good, really only positive. We were shown to a table, told of the various things that were not available, advised that the gluten-free option was Nachos, or the fish and chips, without the chips.... oh or the batter. No water offered, no wait staff came near after we ordered, food took ages. Nachos were burnt, top layer was welded together and inedible. 2 of us had ordered the pie, the meat and gravy was nice after the burned pastry lid was removed. We had requested mash and veg with the pie, the mash was barely warm, the veg all undercooked and also not hot. The ? local shark and chips was served with greasy, limp, lukewarm chips and a similarly unexciting salad. Unfortunately the person who ordered the fish, who has a fairly cast-iron stomach normally, had nausea and vomiting a few hours after eating. Water bottle was dumped on the table after we asked when the food arrived. The place wasn't busy, our half-eaten plates of food stayed on the table until we left, 5 other emptied tables remained similarly uncleared. 3 staff behind the bar, chatting mostly around the till. Our main impression was that they had very little interest in providing any sort of customer service above the minimum. Bit of a shame really, given the potential.
