The Farmer’s Daughter

**There is no takeout** I really hate to leave a one-star review because this place looks beautiful and the staff were genuinely kind. But I feel compelled to share our experience. We traveled from Boston for a wedding and were trying to find a place that could accommodate my wife and our 7-year-old, who both have celiac disease. This restaurant appeared to be our only option in the area that might work. We arrived around 6pm to the area and about an hour before closing. Unfortunately, when we asked if we could order takeout due to our dietary restrictions, we were told they don’t offer it. I explained our situation and asked if an exception could be made—they clearly had to-go containers on hand—but the staff politely declined, citing concerns about how the food would hold up in takeout form. Our child was back at the hotel with family, waiting for us to bring back something safe to eat. With no other options, we had to scramble to find a grocery store and hope we could find something that would work. Again, the staff were kind, but sometimes great service is about going the extra mile. In this case, a little flexibility—especially for a child with limited options—could have made a big difference. I would have happily paid double for a simple accommodation, and this could have easily been a five-star review.

The food was fresh and delicious with large portions. The service is very friendly and thoughtful. The Steak Frites were amazing and the Crab and Corn chowder soup of the day was very tasty with a little bit of a spicy kick. They had a gluten free menu which made ordering very easy.
