The Fisherman's Daughter at Dockside Fish Market

My wife has been talking about this place since we started dating, for their gluten free fish and chips! They were clear that cross contamination was possible due to using a shared fryer, but my wife has had them before without incident. We ordered the walleye fish & chips, the absolutely Smoked Salmon Chowder, also gluten free! And ate overlooking the bay, the experience lived up to and exceeded the expectations! That was some of the best Chowder I've ever had! Picked up a coffee cup on our way out the door, can't wait for our next time back up north!

I was excited to find that they could make gluten free fish and chips, so we decided to check it out. I ordered GF and my husband got the regular ones, both walleye, and they were absolutely fantastic. Not too much breading, and very tasty. Generous servings, with a side of tots or fries.We sat outside with a view of the lake and the boats. Can’t wait to go back.

Gluten free option is not truly gluten free. Not sure exactly where the cross contamination happened (assuming regular and gluten free items are fried in the same oil). Food tasted great, but gluten reaction ensued. If you are looking for a true gluten free option in Grand Marais this is not it.
