The Gardens Restaurant & Terrace Bar

While the gardens themselves are lovely, I felt that the restaurant itself is overpriced with a limited and perhaps overly fancy menu. There are plenty of Vegan and Gluten free options on the menu and it would not be the place to go if you're a fussy eater. That being said, the food was good and other than the price, I certainly enjoyed the club sandwich. Another oddity is that they do have 3 dishes (one of which was the Beef Cheeks I initially wanted), but it can only be ordered as part of their "Dine and Wine" deal with cheesecake and either a glass of wine or tea/coffee (which I didn't want). One of the big kickers for me was when one of the kids wanted some sauce for their chips and we were informed that it was an extra $1 - despite over 10 adults spending money on food and drinks. $1 isn't much, but I just don't feel that it's a necessary charge given you're already paying $11 for the chips (10% surcharge on Saturday and 15% on Sunday and public holiday).
