The Italian Osteria & Cheesebar

First of all the place was clean looking and the staff were friendly and fairly attentive. However, we felt the food was lacking in flavour and authenticity. I ordered a gluten free bee hive pizza (they accidentally brought a regular gluten pizza, but was quick to bring me the right one and ended up taking it off my bill, which was greatly appreciated). Ok so I know gf crusts can be tricky but this was actually pretty terrible. My partner ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were decent, but the sauce was very bland and the noodles were borderline overcooked. If you’re wondering if this place serves classic Italian foget-about-it. Sorry to say but we will not be returning customers.

Overpriced and disappointing. Stopped in here with my mother and the first issue is how noisy it is, very hard to have a conversation unless you want to yell at each other. I ordered the gluten free margherita pizza and it was bizarrely sparse. A thin unhappy crust with a thin layer of sauce and one small piece of cheese and one segment of basil on each slice. The flavour was nice after I picked off all the giant lumps of rock salt. My mom had the gnocchi and she enjoyed it. The service was good and the host and waitstaff were lovely and thoughtful. But given the prices the food was incredibly disappointing and the noise means we won’t be back.
