While visiting my mother in law, we had lunch at the College of Ozark’s restaurant on October 30, 2017. I have celiac so they gave me their gluten free menu. I chose the chicken apple butter sandwich. Everything was good and the bread they brought me also tasted pretty good. It was advertised their bread was home made, but when I asked if I would be able to purchase some to go, I was told that it was sold in Walmart and I should be able to find it there. After we got home about three hours later I got horrendous stomach cramps. They continued to get worse. After about 2 hours of this pain, I vomited very violently. The pains continued. I never felt this bad in my life. I again vomited violently, never did I vomit so bad. By the next day, I finally felt a little better, but couldn’t eat anything without cramps for the next 4 days. I had thought maybe they mixed up and I got the bread that wasn’t gluten free, but it didn’t make sense since I never got that sick from gluten. It turned out it was food poisoning, because I had brought a little bit home in a sack and my husband had eaten it a couple days later and also got very sick. Although not as sick as I since I had eaten almost all of it and he had only a little bit. I gave this two stars rather than one, because this could be a one time error, but it should be noted it happened and people should be careful as this was a pretty severe case of food poisoning. I probably won’t go back. I also was very turned off that they buy their bread at Walmart so it makes me question what else if not real there. The Keeter Center is beautiful, I was quite impressed, but after reading about the reviews of the student facilities I was a bit turned off and I do question their motives, finances and integrity. Just read the review before mine who’s husband got sick for two days, so this may be happening more than it should.
