The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Saint-Bruno

After a long and trying day, we headed to our go-to steakhouse on the South Shore: The Keg in Saint-Bruno. Since it was a Tuesday evening, we didn’t have a reservation, but they were able to seat us right away. On busier nights we usually book ahead just to be safe. We were greeted warmly and led to a cosy corner table near the back. It was perfect for a quiet dinner. Service was courteous and attentive, just as we’ve come to expect. We ordered from the Classic Keg menu: Bacon-wrapped Filet Mignon with vegetables, sautéed mushrooms, and a baked potato with all the trimmings. The filet was melt-in-your-mouth tender, one of the best I’ve had in a while. It also comes with a salad; we chose the Caesar, and mine was carefully prepared gluten free (without croutons or panko). I really appreciate how seriously they take GF dining — a staff member even came by to explain the steps taken to ensure my meal was safe. To pair, my wife enjoyed a crisp Chablis served in a carafe, while I had a robust Grand Coronas red that complemented the steak perfectly. We skipped dessert this time, though the menu was very tempting. If I had one suggestion, it would be to bring back the chimichurri sauce. It was gluten free and such a fantastic accompaniment to steak. Overall, another consistently excellent experience at The Keg: great food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere that keeps us coming back.
