The Swans Restaurant & Function House

Very disappointed in our experience of this restaurant. I booked high tea for 3 with me and my 2 daughters to celebrate my birthday. I booked this place as they had a gluten free option as my daughter is celiac. We paid over $150 for a very disappointing experience. This restaurant is absolutely filthy, every surface was dirty, floors were so dirty they were black and the restaurant smelled musty and unclean. When we arrived the attendant just pointed us to our table with no other greeting. We did not feel welcome. We waited at our table for over 20 minutes before anyone came over to offer us a drink. All we received was water in a plastic carafe and plastic cups. The high tea was not high tea. Food was gross, most items were inedible. With high tea there is an expectation of what type of food you would receive. I have never complained about service or food in a restaurant in my life but felt I needed to give feedback. When I gave feedback to the staff they made me feel very awkward and uncomfortable about it. They very reluctantly offered a 40% refund. I almost cried being made to feel so uncomfortable by the staff. Do not waste your money, this place is awful.

We had a high tea for my mums 60th birthday. My sister is coeliac and they went out of their way to make her a seperate plate full of a variety of options. Staff were very friendly. The only feedback i have for them is the flyer for the high tea should explain if and what drinks are included as we were unaware tea was included but any alcoholic beverage was extra.
