The White Horse at Buckover (near Thornbury)

Food was pretty terrible. Too many issues to list. Staff didn't know what Coeliac was.... training needed.... Pretty sure it did have a good reputation but we certainly wont be going back.

We were taken here by friends as we're not local to the area. It was one of the best dining experiences we have had! My young son has various food intolerances (gluten, dairy, soya) so it's tricky feeding him off any menu. The staff couldn't have been more helpful in finding/tweaking a dish he could happily eat. The tandoori chicken was the most delicious I have ever tasted. Portion sizes were generous but we all found room for dessert. For me it was because it was a 'proper', stodgy and dense baked cheesecake, which can be hard to find anywhere. Service was fabulous and the four children made good use of the play area. Just a lovely, lovely meal out. Would most definitely return. Can't wait to have some more of that tandoori chicken.
