The Abbey at the Heartland Little River Chapel

We loved the Abbey so much we went twice on vacation! The atmosphere can't be beat - the outdoor patio has river views! The patio lights add to the fun vibe. Also kid friendly and affordable. They have gluten free options too - pizza crust, buns, etc. I discovered Long Drinks which are canned gluten free beverages. Overall a great experience!

The atmosphere, even during an obviously massive renovation, is AWESOME! It’s right on the water and the tables outside are spaced well so you don’t feel like you’re getting to know your neighbors if you don’t want to! The food was fine. It wasn’t extravagant, but well priced, decent, and not meant to be the main attraction! The most exciting part for us was a gluten free pizza crust in a small town that is filled with country style food! We didn’t have any alcohol, but if you’re in Townsend and looking for a really fun, chill atmosphere to have a few drinks, I think this is the PERFECT spot!
