The Badachro Inn

Sadly we did not have a positive experience and would not recommend eating here if you are a coeliac or have any food intolerances as the place was not accommodating. You only get a 1.5hr booking so everything is very rushed and we had to chase several times asking what dishes were allergen friendly, even though we notified staff on the booking and when first arriving. There’s no alternatives to parts of dishes, for example we asked to substitute chips (not gf) with boiled potatoes but were told we couldn’t. By the time we were able to order we were told the starters would come with the mains due to the time, so decided to scrap them. When the meals were ready - nearly an hour after we arrived - non-gluten free bread was on a coeliac’s plate and obviously had to be returned. The staff were too busy to care. To be fair, once the food was all sorted it was quite good but we had very little time to eat and enjoy. The whole experience was deflating which was sad as it is a nice spot.

When you walk into a restaurant that predominantly serves shellfish and you then tell them you have shellfish allergy I’m sure it must put the fear into any chef. When you then complicate matters by saying your husband also can’t eat gluten that must also send the kitchen over the edge. However not at badachro the menu is excellent and the servers not only know the menu inside out they double check everything with the kitchen. The food really was outstanding we couldn’t fault even if we tried. If you’re in this area you absolutely must give this place a try. We will be back.
