The Bancroft

A preferred spot for company dinners i eat here a couple times a year. Their au poivre is aggressively peppery (I'm used to a peppercorn sauce) but they have a great wine selection and the food really is on point. They do a great job accommodating gluten sensitivities.

Victoria is a excellent server, and so nice. This is the best meal I've had out in years. I have celiac disease, and it's frightening to go out, because I can get very sick. The room was very comfortable, and the food was fabulous! I had a sirloin steak, bag of fries and the wedge salad. It was so much food. I'm looking forward to my leftovers tonight at home. My understanding is the mashed potatoes were a little too whipped, but they were tasty. Filet was great and shrimp cocktail was amazing. The gluten free chocolate cake is delicious. I will be back!!

Absolutely outstanding!!! Easily the best customer service AND food!! We made a reservation in advance and were seated immediately. The very first thing our waiter said when he came over was, "does anyone have any food allergies?" That one small notion meant the world to me. All the anxiety I feel every time I eat out melted away in an instant. My friend has a peanut allergy and I have Celiac Disease (gluten allergy). Confusing the waiter/waitress with telling them that, "I also have a gluten allergy," is my least favorite part when ordering at a restaurant. This is why I was pleasantly surprised dining here! He assured us that they take every precaution to keep us safe and had someone bring over gluten free toasted bread and butter! It was delicious! The first time he asked was the last time I had to mention my allergy. The rest of the evening he assured me that the dishes we were ordering were gluten free and described which dishes could be altered to be made gluten free with explicit detail (if they contained gluten by default). Now to discuss the steak... it was simply divine. Definitely one of the best steaks I've ever had and it was cooked to perfection. They have so many sauce options you can try with your steak and they put it on the side for you, so that you can control/decide how much sauce you'd like and/or if you'd want it at all. Overall, could be the best experience I've ever had at a restaurant and I will be coming back. Treat yourself and enjoy a lovely night at the Bancroft (especially if you have a food allergy)!!
