The Bladebone Inn

I love historic buildings, and this place has made the most of using lots of the old features. It was warm outside but we ate inside in the conservatory and had beautiful views of the garden. We didn’t book because it was a last minute day out, but the staff were very welcoming and found us a table. It did get busy, and I could see that they probably needed an extra person on the floor, but the way they managed the demands of all the guests, getting food out to tables, and remaining calm and friendly was highly impressive. The food was lovely, and there was a good range of gluten free options. We ate from the set menu, and due to some food intolerances they also let us swap one of the deserts. It might seem an odd thing to mention, but the chips were delicious. Definitely at the top of our chips chart! Will come back to try more things.

This was our first visit to bladebone and it certainly won’t be our last! We were the first sitting of the day and we were served swiftly (table Of 5) and food came super quick which meant it was good and hot. Brilliant selection of gluten free food, and by the sounds of it the ability to cater for most allergies. Sunday lunch was delicious and the fish & chips monstrous. My only adjustment would be more cheesy cauliflower cheese! It was all decked out for Xmas and a glorious fire was roaring, Warm and welcoming! We shall definitely come again!
