The Bridge Tea Rooms

The best Afternoon Tea in the South. I booked to visit for a Mothers Day afternoon tea however unfortunately my Mother fell unwell, I contacted Roy at The Bridge Tea Rooms and he arranged a take-away afternoon tea for us instead. We had 5 finger sandwiches each, a freshly baked scone, homemade jam, clotted cream, lemon drizzle cake, a brownie, a strawberry and cream tartlet and a hazelnut meringue - that was just for 1 person and all for £12.50...you couldn't make this much food at home for that. So impressed and my Mother loved it (once she was feeling better) Roy was also kind enough to arrange to cater to my gluten and dairy intolerances meaning I had my own free from alternatives. I'd rate this place 10 out of 10 if I could. Thank you Roy & the rest of the team!

Wonderful 2pm 'Empress of India' high tea today, with beautiful finger sandwiches with absolutely gorgeous fillings, and scones with lashing of cream and a top quality jam, all on fabulous China cake stands. I had a pot of Japanese green tea which was so nice I had 4 cups - unusual for me. This outing was for my birthday and it was so lovely that everything I had was gluten-free. The staff were so lovely and helpful and the building itself so ancient and filled with history. A wonderful experience!
