I went here with two friends to enjoy tea one afternoon. I booked ahead of time and noted one of the menus needed to be gluten free / vegan. They were happy and willing to accommodate and I really appreciate that! When we first sat down they served us a house blend tea that was delicious and came with dairy-free creamer, regular creamer and sugar. The food was brought out a couple of different times throughout and once we picked out our teas (from their menu of over 100 tea options!!!) they steeped them and brought the teapot to the table with a little tea light underneath it to keep it warm. All of the details and decor were super cute and thoughtful. They definitely played on the pairing of reading and tea, which we loved! Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and willing to go the extra mile! We saw several groups there that were either just enjoying company or having some sort of bachelorette or bridal shower. If you brought children with you, this seems like maybe more appropriate for a girl's birthday party or something like that. The only thing that I would have changed or modified would be the options for the gluten-free / vegan menu. It was heavy on the sweet side and didn't have a lot of savory options to balance the sweetness. I found myself stopping early on the food because the sweetness palette was overwhelming. So my recommendation would be to try to balance it out a little bit more by adding in some savory elements. Other than that I think they did a great job accommodating someone that had a dietary restriction and I appreciate that they make that available to people. We hope to come back this fall for one of the themed teas they're offering!

My favorite English tea place in San Diego (Shakespeare's Corner Shoppe) opened up a larger tea restaurant in Point Loma. I believe it used to be an old diner. They did a great job decorating the place with a cute little parlor in the entrance. The women's restroom has a fun Harry Potter theme. The food is always so good. I love their Scottish Carmel Pu-er tea. Everyone gets a pot of tea to themselves so it's fun to try different teas at the table. Fixed price menu. Call ahead if there are any dietary restrictions. We had a lady who was gluten free in our group so they had food prepared for her. The potato leek soup came out first and it was delicious. The tower of sandwiches, sausage rolls, and scones came out next, following last with desserts. All were delicious.
