My wife had lunch at the Chop House in Kingsport on Thursday. She has some pretty serious food allergies and explained the situation to her waiter named Chris. She placed her order and thought he completely understood what she needed to keep her safe. The other two individuals ordered the same items but did not ask for their food to be "plain". Another server brought the meals to the table and my wife was not really sure she got the "plain" meal. When the waiter refilled her drink glass, he said "here's your gluten free water". This was a real turn off for her. Later in the day, she did experience some allergic reactions to what she had eaten which had to be dealt with. I would strongly suggest that you reiterate to your wait staff the importance of paying attention to guests with severe food allergies, especially when they go into detail of what they need. We don't eat out often and this just reinforces why we don't.
