First, the pros: I ordered Sweet Corn Tamale Cakes as an appetizer and the Grilled Salmon Caesar Salad for my entree. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the plating was well done, the appetizer was tasty. Now the reason I’m only awarding this place two stars: the server could not tell us if the appetizer was spicy or not (it was). Although we asked for the corn cakes to be served first, we waited almost twenty minutes for them and were served our entrees less than five minutes later. Worst of all was their disclaimer at the top of the gluten free menu (I have celiac disease). Basically it said: we can’t be bothered to train our staff in allergen protocols, we’re not going to even try to provide a safe dining experience, and whatever happens it’s on you.
In that case, how about you not offer a gluten free menu? I won’t be back.
