The Cove Restaurant

We were sheltering in place for a week at a beach house nearby in the midst of the pandemic and could not believe our luck that we stumbled upon The Cove. We ordered pick up meals from the extensive menu three times that week and were delighted each time with both the high quality of the food and the gracious service. The staff took great care to set customers at ease with “touchless” pickup, bringing our orders to our car, even in the rain. They also proved very reliable in preparing gluten-free versions of their menu items for one of our party who gets very sick from even small amounts of wheat products. But it was all about the taste in the end and The Cove gets high marks for making even ordinary sounding dishes delicious. Knowing that The Cove is there is going to make a difference for us next time we are looking for a community for a beach vacation.

Went here about 4 years ago and it was great. But now VERY disappointed. #1 I asked the waitress if the chips in the nachos were corn or flower, she had no clue and they have gluten free options on their menu. She went back and asked the cook and he didn't know the answer but thought it was wheat flour. CLUELESS! #2 I ordered the boneless ribeye steak medium rare, it came out burnt and gray in the center. The meat had zero fat meaning a cheap cut of meat for $ 21. #3 the waitress never asked if we needed anything just came over to see about dessert. I told her about the steak and she didn't seem to care. There was more wrong with this dinner but I won't bash them anymore.
