The Dropping Well

We came for lunch, staff was nice and accommodating. They have high chairs for kids (and changing table in the restroom) and they were also careful with the gluten free restrictions for one of us. Food came quickly, it was good and portions are quite big, so perfect for sharing. The atmosphere was nice and some of the tables have nice views over the river, you can book in advance if you want to reserve one of those.

Rang ahead and asked can they cater for coeliacs with the menu for breakfast,told yes no problem. Arrived and when asked waitress for coeliac options,she went off for about 10 minutes to check. We had already been waiting a long time to order food,she came back and said only the granola is coeliac safe. Food took a long time to arrive, then coeliac guest was given regular biscuits with her coffee. Disappointing with how long service took considering it wasn't too busy and would definitely not recommend coeliacs to go here. Another very long wait to pay also. Perhaps not their fault,lack of staff maybe,but it made it an unpleasant and stressful experience with small children
