The Flying Biscuit Cafe

Service was wonderful and food decent, especially the apple butter. And I appreciate how the menu indicates items to fit special diets, like gluten free and veggie items. Why 3 stars? The coffee was atrocious. Either the urn needs cleaning or used grounds, or something.

Today I wandered in at quarter 'til one and the place was almost empty. This was my fourth visit here over the last ten days or so. Today I was alone and the other times I was with either my golf group or my family. The food is usually good, not hot but good. The service is excellent and the servers always cheerful. The last time I ate here, the eggs were runny, the English Muffin raw and the waffle and potatoes cold. Maybe that was because the cook was more interested in arguing with my daughter about what was and what wasn't Gluten free. Today was the culmination. I must have upset the shift change routine. The hostess and a server were more interested in arguing over who would clean the table I asked for and having a little laugh over the "grumpy old man." The attitude here was just not acceptable. I asked the hostess if she was the owner or manager. Her reply was "no" and she walked away. I left without ordering. It'll be a while before I return or bring my golf group here... Too bad! I had 4 meals punched on my free meal ticket.
