From the moment we stepped into The Haunted House Restaurant in Cleveland Heights, it felt like we were in the middle of a spooky blockbuster, but instead of jump scares, we got jaw-dropping service. Our server, Cayla, was the true final girl of the night: calm under pressure, quick on her feet, and making sure our entire party survived (and thrived!) through dinner.
We came in as a large party (always a horror story waiting to happen), but Cayla handled it like a pro. Even when we had to switch seats mid-meal, the kind of thing that could send lesser servers running for the hills, she didn’t bat an eye. She kept the night smooth, seamless, and fun. One of our guests has celiac disease, and Cayla was meticulous in making sure their meal was safe from even a trace of gluten. That kind of care is what makes her a true hero.
Her horror-themed uniform was super cute, and she carried it off with playful energy. Cayla was not only professional but also genuinely funny, which kept the whole table laughing and added to the lighthearted, spooky vibe of the night.
The food and drinks were to die for. I had the Lurch Burger with fries, monstrous in the best way, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, alongside fries that disappeared faster than a ghost. I also split a bubbling punch bowl with a friend, like a mad scientist’s cauldron brought to life, and closed out the night with a silky, hauntingly good espresso martini that could wake the dead.
The atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope for: spooky, immersive, and just the right balance of campy horror fun and serious flavor. But it was Cayla’s service that made the night unforgettable. She was the scream queen of hospitality, guiding us through the chaos with a smile.
If you want great food, killer cocktails, and service so good it’s scary, ask for Cayla. She turned our dinner into a blockbuster hit. Five stars, no tricks, all treats.
