I always enjoy calling in here for a pint. A big old building which is nicely situated near the Crucible and close to the Novotel and Mercure, it fits in well.
There's a nice big bar in the centre serving a huge range of drinks - including at least one gluten free beer on draught (my fave is Magic Rock's Saucery). The staff are pleasant and helpful when it comes to explaining the beer types. Although not tried so far, I understand they serve gluten free options in their food offerings.
A wealth of TV screens surround the bar area showing sport, which has an added atmosphere when the world snooker championships are being played next door!
It can get extremely busy, which is great to see so, if you don't want the hustle and bustle when getting to the bar, try a weekday afternoon for a more relaxed experience!
