The Hoey Moey

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Hoey Moey in Coffs Harbour. Our family has multiple allergies and intolerances – including anaphylaxis to dairy, egg, and soy, plus dairy and gluten intolerances – and we were nervous about eating out, especially on a packed Saturday night. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond. Robyn at the counter was incredible, patiently checking ingredients and labels with the chef to ensure every meal was completely safe for our family. The kitchen team clearly took great care, and our steaks and the smoked BBQ platter were absolutely delicious. It’s rare to feel so well looked after in such a busy environment. The attention to detail, patience, and genuine care from both the front-of-house and kitchen staff made our meal truly stress-free and enjoyable. We can’t recommend The Hoey Moey highly enough for anyone, especially families with dietary needs.

Staff on the day I went don't understand gluten free. I was told I couldn't have the gravey which was listed gluten free. Told I can't have dressing on the salad which arrived with dressing. All around the kitchen looked like there was one person with knowledge who was unable to ensure safety in such a busy kitchen.

Being gluten free, I sadly couldn't have the huge Yorkshire pudding, however the brisket was melt-in-your mouth delicious with vegies. Sister and b-i-law had the YP and was also delicious. Great service!!
