The Imperial Hotel

We stayed for 2 nights. Really nice hotel. If you want to experience England in one place - you can at that hotel without leaving the building. The property is nice and the rooms are clean. Breakfast lovely and they have a bar with a bistro. We had afternoon tea and it was really good. They have gluten free bread and cakes.

Wonderful hotel, superbly managed and brilliant staff. Food was excellent, breakfast offering incredible, as was catering towards gluten free diets, and everything was taken care of as if no bother, which was hugely appreciated by this family with two children. Room was spacious and spotlessly clean. All of the staff we encountered during our stay were professional, friendly and extremely helpful, often going above what might normally be expected. We stayed in the building which overlooks the river. Being in a town and with a road outside there can be some noise from cars and morning deliveries but it didn’t bother the kids, nor us too much. We enjoyed it so much we extended our intended 5 night stay by 2 nights. A really great hotel to use as a base to take advantage of what North Devon has to offer. Loved coming back to the bar at the end of each day too. Thank you to everybody working at the Imperial, highly recommended.
