Good doesn't begin to describe the food here, and the amount you get is pretty crazy. A few years ago I found this place when everything else was shut down, and I'm so glad I did. The catfish is fantastic. A simple cornmeal breading gives it a crispy bite with a tender and flaky interior, and the thin ends of the filets curl and brown in the oil, creating a nice crunchy treat. The red beans and rice are tender without being starchy, with just the right amount of green onion on top to give it that kick. The sausage in the jambalaya stands up to the heavy flavors and is a standout on its own. The grits are creamy and buttery. All of these are customizable with shrimp and other toppings that bring them from simple, but still delicious, dishes to fantastic fare that you'll only share because there's too much to eat on your own. And that's not all. Those were just the gluten free options. There's still crawfish etouffee, gumbo and cornbread. While I haven't had the pleasure of trying them, my family has and they tell me that all of it is just as good as the rest of menu. I know that this review is verbose, but if you take the time to visit this little gem tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, you'll quickly discover just why I can't shut up about it.
