The Luttrell Arms Hotel

Really tasty food and the beer garden outside is very pretty. The main issue that let it down was that the service was incredibly slow. We waited over an hour for our food and they had to stop taking food orders as the kitchen was apparently overrun. The waiters were trying their best but I think there were some issues with time management and inconsistent service. It’s a shame as the food was actually really nice and had good gluten free options. But the service let it down.

Well-located and historic old coaching hotel. Rooms good and clean, and the rooms that face the High St are surprisingly quiet at night. Food is very good although few evident local specialities. Gluten free offerings good although as they only change menu weekly, coeliacs will run out of choices for evening meal after four dinners. Disappointed that sausages for breakfast weren't gluten-free as many are available these days. Service very patchy; frequent 10 to 15 min 'forgotten about' episodes. No private or secure car parking; limited on-street opposite, or council carpark two minutes walk away. Very good draught 'Holy Water' brand local cider available.
