The Mallard Hotel

Our second holiday here - I rarely return to the same place. We love the town and the venue is fantastic for golfers. The service is exceptional and I sleep well because it is so quiet. I would like to return again. It’s a great spot. The major disappointment this year was the room. We were allocated the loft area, still a view over the children’s golf course but it was so much smaller than the first year. A very small room at a high price. I think the loft rooms need to be described as cosy and small. The temperature was hotter as a consequence. The bed felt very hard but I know many people don’t mind this. I think we would prefer a larger room next time at the price we paid. Breakfast is good and the menu for dinner looks great. I am vegan and gluten free so it is far more restrictive. However they were accommodating at breakfast. Maybe a few vegan options on the menu would go down well? The hotel is well run. I hope they continue to please.
