The Malt Brewhouse

Nice pub with a very good selection of beers. Taylors Landlord and Kirkstall Brewery Virtuouse (which is gluten free) on draught for example. Went there Saturday 10th sept at 8 pm. Very busy which is good. Unfortunately the music being played was deafening. Across a two foot wide table we could not converse at all. Constantly saying pardon and what did you say? Asked for the music to be turned down. It was reduced by a couple of decibels only to go back to impossibly loud 20 minutes later. Sorry but we are out to socialise with friends. When doing so, we like to talk to them not just look at them across a table. The sound system is very good, speakers in every corner, surround sound! Unfortunately that meant it was not possible to move away from the deafening volume. If we wanted to go to a disco its where we would have gone. Had intended to spend the evening there, left after 2 pints. Not recommended.

We recently held a birthday party at Malt Brewhouse. We wanted to put on pizzas and Ryan was really helpful in the run up in helping us to decide how many for catering purposes. Ryan, the kitchen and the bar staff were great on the day - all our guests absolutely loved the pizzas (including our gluten free guest who was catered for with no problem at all). The party went perfectly and we’d definitely recommend here for an event, drinks or food!
