The Merton Hotel

Location for this hotel was good, although to really explore the island you need a car, or do what we did and purchase a week travel pass for the buses. Room was big enough and clean but expensive. The pool was good but shame it only opened from 9 to 5 which limited its use when you were sightseeing all day. Breakfast was great, gluten free toast on request, although apart from gluten free musli there was limited choice to cater for food intolerance. If you are not full board, don't pay for the buffet, it's very over priced and the food terrible, although the onside Italian was great service, good food and cheaper. We visited in September and most tourists staying in the hotel were over 60. If we returned to Jersey we would stay in one of the beach resorts, this hotel and St Hellier was good central location but it lacked the charm and pretty holiday atmosphere.
