The Millstone at Barnack

My family and I came for lunch and ultimately had a very disappointing meal and experience. £10 sandwiches (with no gluten free options) served with stale bread and stale crisps, dry overcooked fish, 1 meal forgotten. £12 salad main which was barely a starter portion. We politely asked to speak to the manager during the meal. The owner appeared after the table was cleared and basically accused us of lying, offering no apology or acknowledgement. We politely asked him to go and check with the waiting staff who we had reported the issues to at the time. After doing so he then sent the manager to deal with the situation who offered a more reasonable discount and was far more professional in his approach which we appreciated. Presumably it was a bad day in the kitchen which we could have all understood, however the amount of issues combined with the terrible handling of the situation resulted in a very unpleasant experience.

Love this place. We meet up with friends here 2 or 3 times a year. In the summer we can sit outside and eat which is lovely. In the winter we find a nice cosy little area inside. New menu this time and a few more lovely gluten free main course options. The food is already very good, freshly made from local sourced produce. Wise we lived nearer.
