The Mission Old Town

Went here on Christmas Eve for dinner and had a great meal. We had the pollo street tacos and the kale salad with salmon. I was impressed by the level of attention the staff gave to my dining partner’s gluten sensitivity as they made a special version of salsa that was gluten free as their regular salsa has soy sauce. They also brought grilled tortillas for her to enjoy the guacamole as their regular salsa tortilla chips could be exposed to gluten in the fryer. We had a minor issue with how the salmon was prepared and the executive chef took over to remake it himself. I would definitely return for another meal on my next visit. There were a few items I wanted to try that I was just too full to add to the table.

I can not say enough good things about our experience. I recently found out I can't have gluten or dairy and our server asked about dietary restrictions at the beginning - never thought that simple question would mean so much. He walked through each item we ordered and explained how they could make it dairy free for us. We had the Pork with Cola & Lime glaze and it was phenomenal. I had the salmon and I will be thinking about the salmon for the rest of my life. One of the best meals of my life - thank you for making our first anniversary so special!
