I really wanted to love this place. But, if I could give it half stars, I’d only give it 3.5 stars. Despite the restaurant being empty upon our arrival (930a), they gave us a hard time about not having a reservation. Then, before we were seated, they told us we would only have an hour to eat there. That wasn’t the greatest way to start things off. To be transparent, we had a party of 9. So, I was willing to overlook what felt very uninviting. The food looks amazing. However, it doesn’t taste as good as it looks. It was pretty underwhelming. The pancakes especially were underwhelming. The eggs and the toast were my favorite parts of my meal. Also, my wife is gluten-free and they don’t have many gluten-free options… Towards the end of our meal, it definitely felt like they were trying to move us along and move us out. But the restaurant wasn’t even half full. I can see why people love this place. The ambience is cool - although the bass thumping techno music so early in the morning was a bit much for me. All in all, I wish I ate somewhere else…

The food was amazing, but this restaurant was very unaccommodating for my friend with a gluten intolerance. The menu did not have any labels on which items were available in a gluten-free option and upon asking our server, my friend was told a long list of all the things she could NOT eat (which surprisingly included the potatoes and sausage) but she had to repeatedly ask the server which items she COULD eat. The server eventually suggested eggs benedict on gluten free bread but did not inform my friend that this would be a $3 up-charge. The server also suggested my friend change the hash browns to fruit, again not informing her that this would be an additional $3. Paying an additional $6 because of a really common allergy when her menu options were already so limited, and not even being informed of this charge, seems extremely unfair. I hope the staff will be more mindful of this in the future and make sure customers are at least informed if an item comes with an additional charge. Although the restaurant was cute and the food was good, the experience was a bit soured by the way my friend’s allergy was handled.
