The Newbury

Had a lovely meal here with a large group of friends. It's a great menu with plenty of choice, I often struggle because I am gluten-free. I had the Venison Bourguignon but I could even have had many of the others including fish and chips, which is very unusual. Our party all agreed the food was excellent. The staff were friendly, charming and helpful - Briony was a stand-out! Will definitely be back.

Nice atmosphere and great food. Open mic night on a Tuesday is good too. We’ve been a few times over the last couple of weeks and the bar staff and restaurant team have been great. A good range of drinks, and they are happy to look up ingredients to find gluten free options. Sunday lunch was excellent, with a food range of veg and sides, and service was prompt. The only downside was the loud and obnoxious ‘landlord’ berating the bar staff for leaving the poppy collection box on the counter. He seemed more interested in reminding them (and the whole pub at volume) that it could be stolen. Took the shine off a nice evening.
