The Newdigate Arms

Asked for a gluten free menu,the starter had to be taken back(by server) to check if it was in fact gluten free!!. When the main came ..burger in a bun. I checked that it was a gluten free bun,they took it back,checked and came back with it saying it was but I knew it wasn't so I mentioned it again,she took it back,2 mins later it was brought back with a different bun. I asked if they'd just changed the bun. She said No its a completely new burger,etc. So it was eaten. Afterwards it was obvious that it wasn't. I was ill all night with obvious gluten intact albeit minor. This could have been a more serious issue and not just a dodgy tummy!! Server was lovely by the way,not her fault at all.

Slight over sight on my part. Booked a table for 5 people as a celebration for my daughters Masters Graduation. Forgot to say we were bring a non alcoholic bottle of fizz. After our meal we asked for some glasses and opened our bottle of fizz in excitement. Only to be told that we couldn't drink it. The bottle was overflowing so we let it flow into lemonade glasses so as not to make a mess. Only to have the blonde woman who wore a flowery dress. Who seemed to be in charge. Stormed up to our table and take the half empty bottle away and boom we could have it back going home. She then confiscated our glasses! It was meant to be a celebration!! The same woman also rolled her eyes skywards at my daughters request to see if a dessert was milk free as well as gluten free. Does she not realise people can be made ill through allergies!? £103.50 to be treated rudely by management. I won't be back in this pub again! The treatment and manners of management is pants!
