The Newton Arms

The food was reasonable, however we had issues with dirty cutlery and used napkins being laid out on our table for us to use (one of the napkins was torn, covered in pasta, and had been folded and put out amongst the others). It was an honest mistake but was very unpleasant. We also had two of the wrong dishes brought out, with one being a non gluten-free variant of one we'd requested to be gluten-free - thankfully we asked again for them to reconfirm if it was and they switched it out when they realised the mistake. This was troubling as we made the request due to the recipient having celiac. It was dissapointing as we've had standard service from here before without issue.

I booked a table here for my family and friends not knowing what to expect. What a find! The staff were very attentive and wanting to please. The food was really good with generous portions sizes. My 7year old has ceoliac desease so requires a gluten free diet, the menu had plenty of choice for him and the staff seemed to understand the importance of separate preparation area's to avoid cross contamination. We will definitely be recommending this pub/restaurant. X
